MEDITATION
Meditation for beginners runs for 6 weeks, teaching the fundamentals of meditation. We include correct posture and breathing techniques, relaxation strategies, mindfulness techniques and visualisation as well as helping you to set up a meditation corner and supporting your daily practice if you so wish.
We believe that meditation is good for health and well being and has been proven to help control anxiety, lower blood pressure and aid sleep. It can also help with focus and concentration.
Our meditation is NOT linked to any religious belief or cultural practice.
RELAXATION
Our relaxation group is aimed at people who want to manage the effects of stress. Join us each week to spend an hour of pure relaxation. We believe that social interaction is good for the soul and the first 15 minutes of our meetings are geared towards this as we enjoy a warm drink and biscuits; should you want to chat or just listen, the choice is always yours. After this, you will be invited to enjoy stillness and silence as we practise effective breathing techniques, muscle relaxation and enjoy a variety of visualisations.
Research shows that regular relaxation can help with a variety of physical and mental problems such as poor sleep, everyday stress and stress related conditions, such as high blood pressure and pain.
All our courses are now held in the Horbury therapy room which is comfortable and informal, holding up to 8 people in each class.
Meditation course - 6 week course costs £30 for 6 sessions and include materials and light refreshments
Relaxation group - runs continually on Mondays 6:30pm-7:30pm, payable in blocks of 8 weeks at £40 per block. Fee includes audio recordings and light refreshments
Payment would secure a place should you wish to enrol. We accept cheques or cash which can be dropped in at the therapy room or BACS payment.
