Meditation or Relaxation?


Learn the basics of meditation or simply spend one hour of pure relaxation. Join one of our friendly group sessions.

Meet for one hour each week with like minded people. The emphasis is on your well being and our courses are not based on faith or religion.

Meditation for beginners: New 6 week course starting soon!

Meditation can help you to deal with anxiety, stress, sadness, anger, self-esteem and other emotional issues. It can help you to control sad thoughts that you struggle to let go of and racing thoughts that keep you up at night. Research shows that meditation can help the brain grow in areas that will make it easier to manage difficult emotions. It has been shown to help in healing medical conditions.

Meditation is a powerful tool but it's not easy for most people and many who have tried it without support have found it too difficult to do because their mind kept racing.

Could learning and practising meditation in a small group help you to manage your stress and other unpleasant emotions more effectively?

We offer a successful Meditation for beginners course where we teach correct posture and breathing techniques and also provide you with the ‘tools’ for basic meditation. Our small informal groups of between 5 and 8 people run for approximately one hour per week. The fee includes course materials so that you can continue your meditation practice at home.

This course take place in our relaxing therapy room which is at 28 Wynthorpe Road, Horbury, WF45BB.

Date and time: New 6 week course starting Wednesday 14th March 6:30-7:30pm

Fee - £30 for 6 sessions (includes course booklet and light refreshments)

Relaxation sessions: 6:30-7:30pm Mondays. Fee: £40 for 8 sessions includes audio recordings and light refreshments. Please note that this is NOT a course of limited sessions, but runs each week for as long as you wish to attend, and is paid for in blocks of 8 sessions.

Being able to relax is essential. Many people find this hard to do because of increasingly busy lifestyles, work, financial and family pressures. We all too often hear people saying that they haven’t time to relax, when in reality, making time for this helps us be more productive in other areas of our lives.

Here are some suggestions to help you to relax:

  • Listen to gentle music

  • Have a massage

  • Mindful colouring

  • Unwind in a warm bath

  • Join a relaxation group!

Join our informal, friendly group and spend a well deserved hour each week. Enjoy a warm drink and biscuits before practising effective breathing techniques and relaxation strategies. Follow this by a session of pure relaxation in comfortable surroundings. Sounds good? Contact us for more information.
